The Swedish government intends to allocate financial support to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 63 million, or approximately SEK 720 million, the Swedish government website reports.

According to the published report, the financial support will include EUR 20 million to support Ukraine's industrial base, which is based on the Danish model, which is aimed at supporting purchases from Ukrainian industry.

Thus, on Thursday, the government decided to authorize the Defense Research Agency to negotiate and conclude an agreement with Denmark on a donation of EUR 20 million for the purchase of defense equipment through the Ukrainian defense industry for transfer to Ukraine, and to instruct the Armed Forces to pay the funds to Denmark.

The government also intends to allocate about EUR 43 million to a number of existing multilateral initiatives for rapid and effective support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Examples of initiatives that can be supported can be found within some of the capability coalitions established within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group: the F-16 coalition; the Maritime Security Coalition; the Demining Coalition; the IT Coalition, of which Sweden has recently become a member.

As part of this support, Sweden will also contribute to the NATO Ukraine Fund (NATO CAP), which purchases military equipment.
