Svyrydenko and Rutte discuss possibility of using EADRCC mechanism to urgently assist Ukraine in restoring its energy sector
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed the possibility of engaging the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) to provide urgent assistance in restoring Ukraine's energy sector.
"We discussed the urgent assistance that NATO member countries can provide to restore our energy sector, in particular through the EADRCC (Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre). Equipment from our partners will significantly help restore our networks and gas infrastructure damaged by enemy attacks," Svyrydenko wrote on Telegram on Tuesday evening following her meeting with Rutte, who is visiting Kyiv.
According to Svyrydenko, the parties also addressed the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense with additional systems and missiles. "The PURL initiative has proven its effectiveness, and we ask our allies and partners to increase their contributions," Svyrydenko added.
She also noted that Ukraine is deepening cooperation within the framework of the NATO Security Assistance and Training Initiative for Ukraine (NSATU) and the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC).
