Zelenskyy invited to Munich Security Conference - MFA
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has received an invitation to the Munich Security Conference, which will be held this year on February 13-15, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Heorhiy Tykhyi has said.
"Indeed, the President of Ukraine has been invited to the Munich Security Conference together with a delegation. The delegation also includes Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha," he said during a briefing on Wednesday.
The spokesman noted that specific decisions regarding the president’s participation in the Munich Security Conference will be announced by the head of the Ukrainian state himself.
"But I can confirm that Ukraine is indeed invited and is expected there. Moreover, you will see in the formats of this year’s Munich Security Conference special attention to Ukraine and a priority, focal place for Ukraine within the Munich Security Conference," Tykhyi said.
The Foreign Ministry stated that Ukraine will definitely participate in the Munich Security Conference at many different levels. In particular, the Ukrainian side will participate in panel discussions and have bilateral meetings.
According to Tykhyi, the first priority for discussion on the sidelines of the conference for Ukraine is peace efforts, strengthening Ukraine’s energy security and defense. Also, a priority for Ukraine is increasing pressure on Moscow.
"Ukraine has a vision of how to end this war - through increasing pressure on the Russian Federation. This is what will be heard at the Munich Security Conference,", Tykhyi said.
