Fedorov with visits air defense positions with French officials, discusses joint production of weapons
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has discussed cooperation and joint weapons production with a delegation from the French Defense Ministry led by Minister Catherine Vautrin. The delegation also visited Ukrainian air defense positions.
"Today, Ukraine is among the leaders in the production of various types of drones. We are constantly working on military innovations. It is already clear that the missile program will become a successful area, and we will expand it together with our Western partners. Despite sanctions pressure, Russia continues to produce missiles and UAVs. That is why joint production and cooperation with partners are critically important for strengthening the defense capabilities of Ukraine and all of Europe," Fedorov wrote on Telegram on Monday.
Fedorov and the French delegation, together with the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, also visited combat positions of the anti-aircraft missile forces.
"The meeting took place against the backdrop of another massive Russian attack on critical infrastructure. The French delegation saw firsthand what Ukraine faces every day. Russia systematically targets energy and civilian infrastructure with missiles and drones. No other country in the world has experienced such sustained missile and drone strikes. I showed Ms. Vautrin the round-the-clock duty of our servicemembers and the French-supplied SAMP/T, Mirage 2000 and Mistral systems in combat positions. Catherine Vautrin personally spoke with our military personnel," Fedorov said.
The minister thanked France for its support, which helps protect Ukrainian skies and save lives every day.
