Defense Forces conducting counterattacks in Zaporizhia and Oleksandrivka axes - spokesman for Southern Defense Forces
The Defense Forces are reducing the gray zone in Zaporizhia direction and preventing occupation forces from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory, said Vladyslav Voloshin, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces.
"We’re reducing the gray zone, preventing the enemy from establishing a fortification group, and preventing them from attacking our positions. In other words, in some cases, we’re acting preemptively, and in certain areas of the line of contact, the enemy may think we’ve launched some kind of counteroffensive. But these are our actions, coordinated to prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into our territory," Voloshin said on the Yedyni Novyny (United News) telethon.
He denied the Russian Ministry of Defense’s claim that the village of Krynychne in Mykhailivska rural community of Zaporizhia district of Zaporizhia region had allegedly been captured.
"Krynychne is under our control. Furthermore, over the past 24 hours, we’ve conducted more than 20 search-and-strike and counter-sabotage operations, destroying enemy groups that were attempting to penetrate deep into our defenses. We’ve also carried out counterattacks," he added.
The Defense Forces are also conducting counterattacks and assault operations in Oleksandrivka direction to prevent the Russian occupiers from advancing towards Dnipropetrovsk region.
"The situation there is quite difficult, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces are destroying the enemy, trying to prevent them from advancing toward Dnipropetrovsk region, toward the village of Pokrovske ... We are continuing counterattacks and assaults there, so the enemy is currently in a tough spot, but they are continuing their activity," Voloshin said.
