Explosion takes place at educational institution in Dnipro, children injured - police

Dnipro police are investigating an explosion that occurred at one of the city’s educational institutions on Monday, February 23.

"According to preliminary information, an explosion and smoke occurred during a demonstration of ammunition for students," the police press service said in a Facebook post.

Two children were injured in the incident, with the minors initially receiving minor injuries.

An investigative task force and juvenile police officers responded to the scene. Law enforcement officers documented the circumstances and conducted initial investigations. A decision is currently being made regarding the legal classification of the incident and the opening of criminal proceedings.
