Consumers of distributed generation will not be restricted provided they cover at least 80% of their supply – Shmyhal
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, has amended regulations according to which hourly outage schedules (HOS) will not apply to distributed generation that provides electricity to at least 80% of consumers connected to a single line.
"In this way, the state encourages the installation of new distributed generation facilities and the integration of their capacities into the general energy system," First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minsiter of Energy Denys Shmyhal reported on Telegram on Monday.
According to him, these decisions were developed to implement the resolution of the Headquarters for the Liquidation of the Consequences of Emergency Situations in Kyiv and the region, and they will provide an additional resource for balancing generation and consumption.
"We are also introducing an effective mechanism to guarantee that the benefits are used specifically by those who are entitled to them," the minister noted.
As he added, the distribution system operator will analyze the actual volumes of coverage provided by distributed generation to consumers, and if they amount to less than 80%, hourly schedules will be applied to such lines.
