Erdogan says Turkey ready to host next round of trilateral talks – Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during which they discussed, among other issues, the trilateral diplomatic track in the United States-Ukraine-Russia format and the situation around Iran.
"The president noted that Turkey is ready to host the next round of negotiations in the trilateral format. We appreciate this initiative and hope that it can produce results," Zelenskyy said on Telegram.
Zelenskyy and Erdogan also discussed the situation surrounding the military developments in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
"We discussed with the president of Turkey… the situation around Iran. We are ready to share our expertise to prevent the expansion of the war and protect lives, but at the same time Ukraine needs to strengthen its own air defense, and we expect appropriate support from our partners," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president thanked Erdogan for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Turkey’s readiness to play a role in ensuring maritime security within the Coalition of the Willing, and for future decisions aimed at supporting Ukraine’s energy sector.
