Cabinet launches project providing access to battlefield data for training AI drone models – PM
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has launched an experimental project that grants partners access to train AI models for unmanned systems using real battlefield data, announced Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
"We are strengthening the development of unmanned systems based on artificial intelligence. The government has decided to launch an experimental project that opens access for partners to train AI models for unmanned systems based on real battlefield data. This is a new format of cooperation between the state, Ukrainian arms manufacturers, and international partners," Svyrydenko wrote on her Telegram channel following a government meeting on Thursday.
According to her, weapons manufacturers will have access to a specialized AI platform developed by the Ministry of Defense. This platform allows for safe and high-quality model training without granting direct access to sensitive databases.
The Prime Minister believes this will help accelerate the development of autonomous systems and implement new technological solutions for the front. "Today, Ukraine possesses a unique array of battlefield data that exists nowhere else in the world. This is why companies have a high demand for such data to develop defense technologies. At the same time, for our Defense Forces, this means even more technological capabilities to more effectively detect and strike the enemy on the battlefield," Svyrydenko wrote.
