Sybiha thanks New Zealand for decision to expand military support to Ukraine
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha thanked the New Zealand government for the decision to continue training the Ukrainian military and providing intelligence, communications and logistical support to Ukraine until December 2026.
“Grateful to New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters and the New Zealand government for the decision to extend military support to Ukraine, including the continued deployment of up to 100 New Zealand Defence Force personnel to train Ukrainian soldiers in the UK and throughout Europe. New Zealand will also provide intelligence, liaison, and logistics support through December 2026,” Sybiha wrote on X.
The Minister emphasized that, given Russia's aggressive war, this gesture by New Zealand confirms a shared commitment to international peace and stability.
“Ukraine highly values our partnership with New Zealand—in Europe, the Indo-Pacific, and globally,” Sybiha added.
