New Danish ambassador provides his credentials in Kyiv
On Thursday, October 2, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Mischenko received copies of the credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Thomas Lund-Sørensen.
According to the ministry’s website, Mischenko emphasized that the Ambassador’s broad professional experience will be extremely valuable for the further development of bilateral relations.
He also highly praised Denmark’s leadership during its Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2025, as well as its unprecedented support for Ukraine. Denmark is the world’s absolute leader in terms of assistance relative to GDP – 2.89%, with the total volume of military aid reaching EUR 9.4 billion.
In turn, Lund-Sørensen emphasized Denmark’s determination to continue supporting Ukraine, strengthening its defense capabilities, assisting it on its path to EU accession, and mutual benefit from applying the "Danish model," which is at the same time an investment in the security of all of Europe.
