Law enforcement officers accuse Kyivteploenergo municipal enterprise of inflating prices for equipment transferred to the company as humanitarian aid free of charge.

"Kyivteploenergo is outraged by the accusations of law enforcement agencies regarding inflated prices for equipment needed for major repairs at one of the thermal power plants. Please note that the specified equipment was received by the enterprise as humanitarian aid, making the claims of price gouging and the context of any purchase unclear," the company said on its Telegram channel on Friday.

The company also confirmed that, as a customer, it carries out all purchases in the ProZorro open public system, which provides free access for all concerned participants on equal terms and determines the winner automatically. The customer does not influence the cost of equipment or work.

"Despite this, the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, as part of criminal proceedings, continues another search on the territory of strategic energy facilities, where large-scale work is currently underway to restore and prepare for the heating season," the company said.

As Kyivteploenergo recalled, the company has repeatedly stated about systemic pressure from law enforcement agencies, which has already led to the threat of stopping the enterprise and disrupting the purchase of goods and services critically necessary for its operation.

"The actions of law enforcement officers have already led to the fact that since the beginning of 2024, more than 220 tenders announced by Kyivteploenergo have not taken place. Some of them are due to the refusal of counterparties to participate in the bidding, fearing to become defendants in trumped-up criminal cases," Kyivteploenergo said.

The company also called on law enforcement officers to act in accordance with the law and the conditions of martial law during the investigation and to prevent interruptions in the operation of critical infrastructure facilities.
