The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is expected to announce a decision on Thursday to limit card transfers of individuals (P2P, person-to-person) to UAH 100,000 per month, but will not impose restrictions on the number of payments, as previously assumed, Deputy Governor of the NBU Dmytro Oliynyk said on Tuesday.

"We have taken away the counter, there will only be a sum, and this sum will not include transfers to volunteers," he said in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency in Kyiv on Tuesday.

A decision on P2P is expected on Thursday, Oliynyk clarified.

The deputy head of the NBU added that restrictions on outgoing transfers are not yet expected, but will be considered in the future.

Earlier, NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy in an interview with the publication Ekonomichna Pravda announced a decision regarding the introduction of restrictions on card transfers of individuals (P2P) during the current week.

As reported, on May 23, the NBU announced, as part of the fight against money laundering, the introduction of a limit on the number of transfers of individuals (P2P) for the period of martial law. Initially, the National Bank planned to introduce a limit on the number of transactions - up to 30 per month with a total limit of up to UAH 100,000.
