NovaPay as of mid-2024 becomes 7th in number of payment terminals, 21st in active cards
The international financial service NovaPay from the Nova group increased the number of payment terminals in the second quarter of 2024 from 4,950 to 8,370, which allowed it to become the seventh in the market in this indicator, ahead of Ukrposhta with 7,480 terminals and A-Bank with 7,520.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the total number of payment terminals in the second quarter of this year decreased from 486,260 to 480,620, and the largest player by a wide margin remains state-owned PrivatBank – 310,020 (in the previous quarter – 299,960).
The top three also includes state-owned Oschadbank – 81,440 (80,900) and Raiffeisen Bank – 35,130 (34,230).
Following with a serious lag are FUIB – 12,140 (10,970), UkrSibbank – 9,050 (9,770) and the nationalized Sense Bank – 8,840 (8,600).
In addition, the number of active NovaPay payment cards in the second quarter of this year increased from 82,480 to 151,850, which allowed the service to bypass Kredobank and Pivdenny Bank and come close to the top twenty market leaders.
The total number of active cards in Ukraine in the second quarter decreased from 52.739 million to 52.654 million. The leader, state-owned PrivatBank, had a small decrease - from 28.163 million to 28.163 million, while the third-ranked state-owned Oschadbank had a more noticeable decrease - from 7.631 million to 7.346 million. At the same time, Monobank continued to strengthen its second position in the market: the number of its active cards increased from 8.447 million to 8.717 million.
