Tax authority gains access to carrier data crossing borders – MP
The State Tax Service of Ukraine has gained access to information regarding the number of vehicles and passengers crossing the border, which will allow it to determine the minimum income for each Ukrainian carrier, announced MP Danylo Hetmantsev, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy.
Based on this data, it will be easy to establish the amount for which carriers have not issued receipts (payment slips), Hetmantsev wrote on Telegram on Wednesday.
"I would like to address the companies providing international passenger transport services. The State Tax Service has established a mechanism for cooperation with the State Border Guard Service. Now, tax officials have information about vehicles, the number of passengers crossing the state border, and other travel details. With just a few taps on a Casio calculator, it is possible to calculate the minimum income for a carrier's services and the amount for which receipts were not issued," he said.
In September 2024, the State Tax Service, together with the State Border Guard Service, conducted several successful joint operations at border crossings, identifying violations of payment regulations and a lack of licenses for transportation activities, according to the head of the Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy Committee.
"Next, it's just a matter of procedure," Hetmantsev said.
He emphasized that he is aware that most carriers do not fully report their income or issue all receipts. The MP strongly advised auto carriers to start doing so.
