Ukrzaliznytsia board head Liaschenko resigns
Ukrzaliznytsia board head Yevhen Liaschenko has written a letter of resignation, the company's press service reported on its website.
"The Ukrzaliznytsia supervisory board received an application from Yevhen Liaschenko on the early termination of the powers of the chairman of the board," Ukrzaliznytsia reported on its website on Monday.
It is indicated that the supervisory board intends to consider the application in the coming days and make all necessary decisions in accordance with the current procedures, the company clarified.
According to sources of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, the nomination committee will be held on Tuesday, October 8, and Oleksandr Pertsovsky, a member of the board who currently heads the passenger direction of Ukrzaliznytsia as the director of the Passenger Company branch, may be appointed as the new CEO.
Among the candidates for the position are also considered the operational director of Ukrzaliznytsia, a member of the board responsible for the freight vertical, Viacheslav Yeremin and the former director of Lviv Railways, former director of Ukrzaliznytsia infrastructure, member of the board Roman Chernytsky.
Liaschenko, as the agency's interlocutor indicated, will remain a member of the board and will, as before, oversee the financial sector.
Pertsovsky came to Ukrzaliznytsia in October 2020 and was appointed acting member of the company's board, and a year later he was approved in this status. Before that, in 2016-2020, he was the first deputy general director of JSC Ukrposhta, and even earlier, from 2010 to 2016, he worked in senior positions at Deutsche Post DHL Group in the USA and Singapore.
