By the end of the year, Ukraine expects to receive from 600 MW to 800 MW of small electricity generation facilities capable of providing guaranteed energy supply to businesses and communities that manage to install them, said the adviser to the prime minister of Ukraine, member of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo Yuriy Boiko.

"There are estimates that by the end of the year, 600 MW to 800 MW of distributed generation will be introduced in Ukraine. This is neither a little nor a lot. If we talk about Ukraine as a whole, then this is definitely not enough to confidently look and declare guarantees of energy supply and readiness for any scenarios in terms of shelling, but locally, for those who have managed to install it, this will be a guaranteed energy supply in any scenario," Boiko said during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center in Kyiv on Wednesday.

At the same time, he noted that he expects a boom in distributed generation next year, since this is not only a guaranteed energy supply, but also profitable business projects, given the prices for electricity on the market.

"Therefore, these projects will definitely go ahead, and the indicators next year will be significantly higher," said the prime minister's adviser.
