Ukrainian delivery operator Nova Poshta to audit processes as part of structural overhaul
The largest express delivery operator, Nova Poshta, is launching a large-scale structural overhaul aimed at increasing efficiency, co-owner Volodymyr Popereshniuk announced.
"I have decided to audit the processes carried out by all non-operational employees not directly involved with parcels. I plan to categorize these employees into two groups: those who support the company's daily operations and those who drive its development and improvement. The latter will be prioritized and allocated more resources," he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
Popereshniuk emphasized that his goal is to identify redundant and harmful processes that should be eliminated.
"It is crucial to remove anything that hinders the company's growth and progress. Though this effort requires significant commitment, such reforms should transform a good company into an even better one," the Nova Poshta co-owner stated.
According to him, the need for change has arisen due to the company's rapid expansion.
"Right now, as the owner of Nova Poshta, I face a serious challenge regarding our company's future. We have grown significantly, turning into a massive enterprise with nearly 30,000 employees and a large administrative and managerial structure," Popereshniuk explained.
He expressed concern over maintaining an agile and innovative company, capable of generating and implementing groundbreaking ideas, rather than becoming a cumbersome, bureaucratic corporation bogged down by "pointless office politics and a managerial mindset focused solely on avoiding mistakes."
A promising solution, in his view, would be the creation of a corporate efficiency department modeled after DOGE, the U.S. government's Efficiency Department led by Elon Musk.
"However, a commercial company is not the same as a government entity, where firing bureaucrats often leads to improvements. In business, most employees are necessary, and identifying those who can be let go without harming the company is incredibly challenging. Moreover, our primary goal is not cost-cutting, but rather business expansion, entry into new markets, and fostering innovation. These objectives do not align with workforce reductions," Popereshniuk said.
He stressed that it is vital for the company to maintain team motivation, engagement, and a culture of continuous development.
