DTEK Grids plans to invest UAH 4 bln in the power grids of three regions and Kyiv in 2024

Distribution system operators of DTEK Grids plan to invest about UAH 4 billion in improving the stability and reliability of power grids in Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv regions and Kyiv in 2024.

“The total volume of investment programs is planned at about UAH 4 billion in 2024. Thanks to the construction of new lines, substations and modernization of existing ones, we will reduce emergency situations and ensure stable operation of power grids,” the energy holding company said in a press release with reference to CEO of DTEK Grids Oleksandr Fomenko.

In particular, DTEK Kyiv Grids plans to reconstruct four large high-voltage substations, in which power transformers will be replaced and switchgear will be modernized. The modernization of these facilities will directly increase the reliability of power supply for more than 73,000 families in Sviatoshynsky, Holosiyivsky and Solomiansky districts.

"DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids will begin work this year on the construction of a new cable line, which will provide backup power for seven substations. Thanks to this and the reconstruction of the high-voltage substation in the event of an emergency, it will be possible to reduce the duration of outages for more than 17,000 families in Obukhiv,” the company noted.

In turn, DTEK Odesa Grids, as part of its investment program, continues to reconstruct three 110 kV high-voltage substations. This will reduce the risk of accidents for 110,000 customers and 20 socially important facilities, including nine boiler houses, six hospitals and five water supply and sanitation facilities.

In Dnipro, specialists from DTEK Dnipro Grids will carry out reconstruction at one of the hub substations with the division of sections, which will make it possible to effectively use existing transformers and provide reliable power supply to more than 15,000 families and industrial enterprises of the city. This will also create a power reserve for connecting new clients.

DTEK Grids is developing a business in the distribution of electricity and operation of electrical networks in the city of Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Odesa regions. The energy holding's distribution network operators serve 5.4 million households and 150,000 enterprises.
