DTEK energy workers restored electricity to 426,000 families in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk regions and the city of Kyiv in February, the energy holding company reported in a press release on Monday.

"Over the past month, our specialists have restored power grids in 216 populated areas that were disconnected from power grids due to enemy shelling," the company said.

In particular, in February it was possible to restore the operation of power grids for 189,000 families in Donetsk region.

"Last month, shelling in Dnipropetrovsk region intensified, especially in the southern part of the region. In February, power engineers resumed power supply to the homes of 226,000 families who were without electricity due to lines and power facilities damaged by shelling," the company said.

Due to another enemy attack in early February, power outages also occurred in the city of Kyiv – then power engineers promptly returned power to the homes of more than 10,000 Kyiv residents.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, power engineers have already restored power to more than 11 million families. Our very first priority is to provide customers with power as soon as possible. Power engineers begin work immediately as soon as they receive permission and access to the site of damage from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service," CEO of DTEK Grids Oleksandr Fomenko was quoted in the press release.

DTEK Grids is developing a business in the distribution of electricity and operation of electrical networks in the city of Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Odesa regions. The energy holding's distribution system operator serve 5.4 million households and 150,000 enterprises.
