Among the top debtors for heat and hot water in Kyiv are nine high-rise buildings in the city center, which in total owe almost UAH 3.5 million, the utility company Kyivteploenergo reported on Telegram on Thursday.

According to the company, the debt for hot water supply and heating services for the 2023/2024 heating season increased by UAH 800 million, or 13%, with the bulk owed by 16% of households.

“The majority of the debt, namely UAH 4.5 billion, accounts for 16% of the total number of Kyivteploenergo clients, the total number of which is about 1 million,” the company noted.

It also gave examples of other top debtors in the central districts of the city.

In particular, in Pechersky district, there are more than 247 debtors who own two or more apartments. Each of them has a debt exceeding UAH 25,000 for consumed hot water and heating.

In a residential building at 23 Lesi Ukrainky Boulevard (Pechersky district), 89% of apartment owners are debtors for heating. The total debt of the residents of the house as of July 1 is UAH 1.6 million.

In a residential building at 50-52a Sichovykh Striltsiv Street (Shevchenkivsky district), 59% of apartment owners are debtors for heating. The total debt of the building's residents as of July 1 is UAH 1.3 million.
