Ukraine's MFA expands access to consular services abroad: 24 institutions added in 20 countries

The list of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine providing services using the State Register of Civil Status of Citizens has almost doubled since July 15.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (MFA), an additional 24 institutions in 20 countries received access to the register. These are the Ukrainian embassies in Austria, Algeria, Belgium, Great Britain, Armenia, Spain, Morocco, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, UAE, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Finland, France, Croatia and Sweden, consulates in Edinburgh, Balti, Dubai, Nyíregyháza and Brno.

"Thus, a total of 48 institutions in 31 countries in Europe, the North America, Asia and Oceania, as well as Africa and the Middle East will have access to this registry from July 15," the MFA said in the statement.

The department said access to the State Register of Civil Status Acts means that citizens of Ukraine will be able to obtain repeated certificates issued by the Register authorities on the territory of Ukraine (about birth, about death, about change of name, about marriage, about divorce); extracts from the Register about the registration of the act (birth, death, change of name, marriage, divorce). Now additional foreign diplomatic institutions will provide such services and carry out other work in the area of ​​state registration of acts of civil status using the funds of the Register.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to make consular services for our citizens abroad more accessible, and their list is constantly expanding. Now we are making the largest one-time expansion of the geography of access to the State Register of Civil Status Acts of Citizens. This creates new opportunities for citizens of Ukraine who are in these twenty countries demonstrates the concern of the Ukrainian state," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to work to simplify access to consular services abroad and connect all foreign diplomatic institutions to the mentioned register until the first half of next year.
