Two contracts worth almost UAH 5 billion were signed between the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense and enterprises of the domestic defense industry complex during a working visit to the Ukrainian regions by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, the press service of the department reports.

"This is extremely important for strengthening the defense capability of our state. After all, we buy and support our own production, contributing to the development of our economy and industry. I’m grateful to the president for your support in these matters," the press service quotes Umerov as saying.

According to a message published on the Telegram channel, during the trip, Zelenskyy and Umerov, as well as First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havryliuk and Deputy Minister Dmytro Klimenkov, visited defense industry enterprises to get acquainted with their work.

"We continue to invest in the Ukrainian manufacturer, significantly strengthening our defense potential. The increase in production volumes confirms the effectiveness of the joint work that we are conducting with the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine. This is our key priority," Klimenkov emphasized.
