Energoatom has two NPP power units left to repair this year – company head
Energoatom must carry out repairs of two more power units of nuclear power plants this year in preparation for the upcoming heating season, acting chairman of the company's board Petro Kotin said.
"We have two more power units left to repair this year, which will be in the energy system by November, and we will work during the heating season with all nine units, as announced earlier," Kotin said at a press conference during a visit to one of the NPPs on Wednesday, answering a question from Energy Reform.
At the same time, he noted that the company managed to reduce the duration of repairs by more than 40 days in order to return the units to the grid faster.
After the Russian occupation of the Zaporizhia NPP, Energoatom has three NPPs - Rivne, Khmelnytsky and Pivdennoukrainsk with a total capacity of nine power units of 7.8 GW. The company indicated that the repair of one more of them, in addition to the two indicated, will probably be postponed until next year.
