Zelenskyy: Just peace possible only if Ukraine holds initiative
Achieving a just peace for Ukrainians and security for all Ukrainian territories is possible only if Ukraine retains the initiative in the war, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on Friday.
"The occupier will answer [...] facing the court and history and already in front of the strength of our soldiers. All those Ukrainians who are restoring justice, destroying the occupier and defending our positions. They defend exactly as needed to preserve Ukrainian independence and achieve our goals. And the main one is a just peace for all our people as soon as possible, real security for all our regions and communities. And this is possible only if Ukraine retains the initiative in the war, our unity with the world is maintained, and we are all here in Ukraine, we are all working for our state, for our common interests, for our security," he said in a video address following the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff Headquarters.
The head of state expressed gratitude "to everyone who carries out such tasks for Ukraine."
"I am proud of all our combat brigades!" he emphasized.
The president also said that he had heard reports from the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense on the prospects for the near future, the capabilities and tasks of the terrorist state.
"We are working to further limit Russia's ability to wage this war," Zelenskyy said.
