Shmyhal discusses Ukraine's recovery needs with American senators

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed Ukraine's priority recovery needs with American senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal.

"I am glad to welcome American senators and friends of Ukraine Lindsey Graham (Republican Party) and Richard Blumenthal (Democratic Party) to Kyiv. I noted that U.S. continuing bipartisan support is important in the future. I thanked them for voting at the Senate on initiatives important for Ukraine," Shmyhal wrote on his Telegram channel.

The prime minister also informed the senators about Ukraine's priorities, in particular, regarding the implementation of reforms.

"We are grateful for the U.S. assistance in restoring the Ukrainian energy sector. Among the main challenges today is preparation for the heating season. We are restoring what was destroyed and decentralizing our energy system to make it less vulnerable to Russian attacks," he added.

According to the head of the Ukrainian government, special attention at the meeting was paid to frozen Russian assets.

In addition, Shmyhal called on American businesses to invest in priority sectors, which will lead to long-term recovery and growth of the Ukrainian economy.
