Ukraine extends sanctions against Shariy, Huzhva, Pushilin, associated media by ten years
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree extending for ten years the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) to impose sanctions against Ihor Huzhva, who is believed to have controlled the Strana.UA website, blogger Anatoliy Shariy, the so-called head of the "DPR" Denis Pushilin, a number of other individuals, and Russian media.
The relevant documents were published on the website of the head of state on Wednesday.
The presidential decree extended sanctions against Ihor Huzhva, Hanna Solntseva, and Liubov Lukashyna. The sanctions imposed against them include the cancellation or suspension of licenses and other permits, the presence of which is a condition for carrying out a certain type of activity, a ban on the transfer of technology, rights to intellectual property, as well as blocking by Internet providers of access to web resources associated with the listed individuals, including their subdomains – the Strana.UA website and its pages on social networks. Sanctions against Lasmak LLC, Madzheri LLC, and Smart Mediaset LLC have also been extended. The NSDC decision regarding these legal entities also provides for blocking the Strana.UA website and its subdomains.
In addition to economic restrictions, the extended sanctions against Anatoliy Shariy, Olha Shariy, and Alla Bondarenko provide for blocking access to the Shariy.net resource, the Shariy Political Party website, and related subdomains, as well as to the list members' pages on social networks.
The decision also provides for the extension of economic restrictions and blocking of access to the web resources of Shariy.Net Information Agency LLC.
The decision to extend sanctions against Huzhva, Shariy, and their affiliated legal entities was made by the NSDC on August 21, 2024.
