Nine people wounded, one died in hospital as Russian aircraft attacks Sumy enterprise
An investigation has been launched into an enemy missile attack on an enterprise in Sumy, which, according to preliminary data, injured nine people, Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office said on Friday morning.
"According to the investigation, on August 30, 2024, at about 1:30 a.m., using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, the enemy launched an airstrike on an enterprise in Sumy. As a result of the attack by the occupiers, according to preliminary data, nine people were injured. The damage from the fire is currently being eliminated. Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the shelling," it said on Facebook.
Later, it was reported that one of the wounded women died.
"A woman, 48, died from her wounds in hospital," the prosecutor's office said.
Under the procedural guidance of Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Sumy region into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
