PGO: Death toll in Poltava increases to 51
The death toll as a result of the Russian strike on Poltava on Tuesday, September 3, has increased to 51 people, the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO).
"As of 18:00, 51 people are known to have died and more than 200 were injured as a result of the attack. One of the buildings of the Institute of Communications, a hospital and nearby houses were partially destroyed," the PGO said on its Telegram channel.
According to law enforcement officials, on September 3, 2024, the Russian Armed Forces carried out an air attack on Poltava, using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles.
A pretrial investigation has been initiated on the fact of an encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine (Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) under the procedural leadership of Poltava Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector.
