Russian occupiers shot three Ukrainian prisoners of war in Toretsk axis. Ukrainian law enforcement officers have launched a pretrial investigation into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office said.

"On September 3, 2024, information was published in Telegram channel about the probable execution of Ukrainian servicemen by representatives from Russia. The office says three soldiers from one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came out of the basement of a house with their hands raised when the enemy came very close to them. The occupiers put them face down on the ground, after which they almost immediately shot them in the back," the office said in the Telegram channel.

The intentional killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a grave international crime. The disseminated data is being verified. A number of investigative (search) actions are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of this event.
