Stefanishyna appointed as Dpty PM for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Justice Minister
The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Olha Stefanishyna as Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice, a member of the European Solidarity faction, Oleksiy Honcharenko, said on Thursday.
The appointment of Stefanishyna was backed by 253 MPs at a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.
As reported, on September 4, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna for further appointment to a new position.
In July, the media reported that Stefanishyna might head the Justice Ministry instead of Denys Maliushka, in combination with her current position. At the time, the deputy prime minister did not confirm this information, but said that her promotion was being prepared.
Stefanishyna was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine on June 4, 2020. Prior to that, she headed the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration from March 2017 to September 2019.
