Defense Forces already shoot down 27 Shaheds, combat work on drones continues – Air Force
The Ukrainian Air Defense has eliminated 27 enemy drones which Russian troops attacked Ukraine with on the night of September 6, the Ukrainian Air Force reports on Telegram.
"As a result of the air battle, as of 8:00, 27 attack UAVs were shot down. Eight drones were lost on the territory of Ukraine [probably fell under the influence of electronic warfare systems], one UAV returned in the direction of occupied Donbas. Several more air targets [probably attack drones] are observed in the airspace in the north," the report says.
It is also reported that the enemy attacked with one X-59 guided air missile, one X-31P anti-radar missile and also 44 Shahed type attack UAVs.
It is reported that the invaders launched the missiles from temporarily occupied Luhansk region and Bryansk region of Russia, and the drones from the Russian cities of Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and from Cape Chauda, which is in temporarily occupied Crimea.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the air attack.
Air defense was active in Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Sumy regions.
