Croatia announces new aid package for Ukraine – Zelenskyy
The Croatian government will provide Ukraine with a new defense aid package, the Ukrainian president said following talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.
"Mr. Prime Minister, let me say thank you for today's talks, for your continued support, thank you for all the defense aid packages provided by Croatia. Today there is a new package and overall we have quite strong interaction in various areas," the president said at a press conference within the Crimea Platform in Kyiv on Wednesday.
As reported by Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, Zelenskyy also noted Croatia's assistance in the treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers, relatives of the military, as well as the children of defenders.
"Of course, we value Croatia's experience in joining the European Union and its readiness to share this expertise with us. I would also like to note your support, Mr. Plenkovic, and the support of all of Croatia for Ukraine on the path to the EU and NATO," Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, the head of state noted the importance of ensuring that there is no security deficit in Europe, and what further joint steps both sides can take to protect Ukraine and all of Europe.
Zelenskyy said together with Plenkovic, they also discussed joint production, in particular, of mine-clearing machines. "Your leadership in this area of mine-clearing is important to us. We remember that the first international conference on humanitarian mine-clearing was held last year in Croatia," he said.
