At the request of prosecutors from the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, the property belonging to the wife of a former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation has been seized and transferred to the management of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), reports the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The office's Telegram channel on Thursday mentioned that the high-ranking Russian military official actively supports Russia's aggressive policies against Ukraine. Previously, he held positions as Deputy Defense Minister and Chairman of the Military-Technical Cooperation Committee, and is currently a member of the board of directors of a defense corporation and a state advisor at the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"In December 2023, he was included in the sanctions list for his involvement in supporting Russian military aggression against Ukraine. As part of these sanctions, all his assets in Ukraine were blocked, trade operations were restricted, and intellectual property rights transfers were banned," the statement said.

The Office of the Prosecutor General also reported that the sanctions blocked attempts to withdraw monetary assets from Ukraine.

"A luxury apartment on the Odesa seafront, with a total area of 1,012.6 square meters, was being sold through an intermediary for $1.5 million. The property, registered in the name of the sanctioned official's wife, was seized by a decision of the Kyiv District Court of Odesa in April 2024," the office said.

The property, as the office emphasized, was seized in accordance with Ukrainian law to preserve evidence in the criminal case and prevent the withdrawal of assets abroad.

The pretrial investigation into the financing of actions aimed at violently changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing state power, as well as altering Ukraine's borders (Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), is being conducted by the National Police in Odesa region.
