Nausėda: Lithuania's support for Ukraine amounts to EUR 1.5 bln
Lithuania's support for Ukraine amounts to about 2% of GDP or EUR 1.5 billion, EUR 647 million of which is military aid, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said.
Lithuania's support for Ukraine currently amounts to EUR 1.5 billion, of which EUR 647 million is for military needs, he said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
Nausėda recalled that Lithuania has committed to annually allocating 0.25% of its GDP – about EUR 190 million – for Ukraine's security and defense.
He emphasized Lithuania's continued commitment to supporting Ukraine, while calling on allies to increase the volume and pace of support for the country.
Nausėda separately pointed out Lithuania's readiness to strengthen defense cooperation and promote closer ties between defense industry enterprises.
He also emphasized that Lithuania views Ukraine's fight for freedom as its own and will stand by Ukrainians until victory.
