The world has already gone through colonial wars and conspiracies of great nations at the expense of smaller ones, and Ukrainians will never accept that a brutal colonial past can be imposed on Ukraine instead of a normal peaceful life, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

"And when China and Brazil try to turn into a chorus of voices with someone in Europe, someone in Africa, who say something alternative to a full and just peace, the question arises. What is the true interest? Everybody needs to understand. You will not strengthen your power at the expense of Ukraine," he said at the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.

The world has already gone through colonial wars and conspiracies of great powers at the expense of smaller ones, and all countries, particularly China, Brazil, European states, countries in Africa and the Middle East understand why this should be a thing of the past, the head of state said.

"And Ukrainians will never accept why someone in the world thinks that such a brutal colonial past, which today does not suit anyone, can be imposed on Ukraine now instead of a normal peaceful life," he said.

Zelensky emphasized that he wants a real and just peace for his people.

"And I am asking you for support from all countries of the world. We do not divide the world. I ask you for the same. Do not divide the world. Be united nations. And that will bring us peace," he said, addressing the audience.
