Umerov urges Finland to invest in Ukraine’s defense industry
Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, during a meeting with a delegation headed by the chair of the Defense Committee of the Finnish Parliament Jukka Kopra, called on Finnish companies to invest in the Ukrainian defense industry and create joint ventures, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.
The Head of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine expressed gratitude for the constant support from the Government and the people of Finland, as well as for the willingness to deepen bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of financing defense production in Ukraine and the prospects of creating joint ventures.
"Finnish companies can contact the Ministry of Defense - we are ready to provide them with contracts," the ministry quoted Umerov as saying on its website on Wednesday.
The Finnish delegation confirmed its intention to continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, as well as to invest in industrial facilities aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capability.
