Zelenskyy after meeting with Rutte hopes for NATO to change position on defense of Ukrainian sky

After a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that NATO member states would change their position on the defense of the Ukrainian sky and pointed to the need for unity in confronting the aggressor.

"We talked today about Ukraine's needs for air defense and interaction with neighbors. We see, in particular, how in the Middle East they manage to protect human lives thanks to the unity of allies. Joint destruction of Iranian missiles is no different from shooting down Russian missiles, from shooting down Iranian Shaheds that unite the Russian and Iranian regimes," the head of state said at a joint press conference with the Secretary General, who is visiting Kyiv on Thursday.

Zelenskyy said he expects NATO countries to change their approaches to helping Ukraine protect its sky.

"More determination from partners in our region is what is needed to put an end to Russian terror. We will continue to convince our partners," he said.
