Some 260,000 residents of Donetsk region deprived of water supply – authorities

About 260,000 residents of the north of Donetsk region have been deprived of sustainable water supply services for an indefinite period of time, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin has said at a meeting with representatives of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Ukraine, agencies, foundations, international and local humanitarian partners, and subnational profile clusters on Thursday.

Following the meeting, he said on the Telegram channel that the decentralization of water supply in the north of Donetsk region is "an issue that requires an urgent solution" and that "the assistance of international partners is needed" to provide the region's residents with water and to hold the heating season of 2024-2025.

"They also agreed to cooperate on assistance in the rehabilitation of veterans and socially vulnerable segments of the region's population," Filashkin said.
