Expansion of Ukrainian-French weapons production to be coordinated by defense ministers – Zelenskyy

Work on expanding joint weapons production will be carried out at the level of the defense ministers of Ukraine and France, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.

"A separate focus of our negotiations is joint weapons production. We must expand such cooperation. We agreed that work on this will take place at the level of defense ministers," Zelenskyy said in Telegram channel on Thursday evening.

The parties discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula and efforts to bring a just peace closer. "We greatly appreciate that France, as part of the work begun in Switzerland – the first Peace Summit – is organizing a conference on nuclear safety and security on October 17," the head of the Ukrainian state said.

He discussed in detail with Macron the points of the Plan for Victory and Ukraine's strategy, as well as the situation on the battlefield and "things that can strengthen our positions and provide more protection to Europe." "Thank you for the productive conversation and all the questions that help us form a common view on how to bring peace closer. We appreciate France's leadership on this path and agreed at the team level to continue working on filling our steps," Zelenskyy said.
