President's Office discusses issues of Ukraine-Hungary cooperation

Deputy Heads of the President's Office of Ukraine Viktor Mykyta and Ihor Zhovkva met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Parliamentary Secretary of State Levente Modyor and discussed cooperation between Hungarian and Ukrainian regions, as well as the implementation of joint infrastructure and educational projects.

"Thank you for all the support from Hungary, which is provided to the Ukrainian people today. We are interested in strengthening economic relations, in particular transport cooperation. It is also important that it is economically feasible for Ukraine and Hungary to build checkpoints. We have common plans," Mykyta said, citing by the Presidential Office on Friday.

Cooperation at the regional level has already proven its effectiveness, Mykyta said, in particular, thanks to this, kindergartens, schools, mother and child homes and sports centers were built in the de-occupied communities of Kyiv region and Zakarpattia, and the restoration of water supply continues in Kherson region.

Zhovkva, in turn, noted the participation of the leaders of Ukraine and Hungary in the meeting of the European Council the day before in Brussels, at which Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Victory Plan.

Separately, during the meeting, the priorities of Ukraine's European integration during Hungary's presidency of the European Union were discussed.

"This June, the first intergovernmental conference was held, marking the beginning of negotiations on Ukraine's accession. It is very important that during the Hungarian presidency we achieve significant progress on Ukraine's path to the EU," Zhovkva said.

Also during the meeting, a schedule of contacts between official representatives of both states in the near future was agreed upon.
