Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrsky has met with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III on Tuesday.

"I informed the Pentagon chief about the strategic situation at the front and on peculiarities of the development of the operational situation on the most difficult directions of the Ukrainian forces' operations. During the conversation, I noted the importance of a regular and uninterrupted support for the defense forces of Ukraine with weapons and military equipment by the allies, primarily the United States. In this context, I once again stressed the necessity of achieving if not superiority, then at least parity with the enemy in terms of the main models of military equipment and ammunition," Syrsky said on Facebook following the meeting.

The parties also talked about the use of full capacities of certain means of destruction by Ukrainian detachments, the strengthening of air defense capabilities and a range of other issues which would impact the theater of operations in the future.

"At the end of our conversation, I thanked Lloyd Austin for his clear and consistent support for Ukraine as well as his personal contribution to establishing and organizing the Ramstein-format meetings," Syrsky said.
