Podoliak: Putin fails to implement everything he planned at BRICS summit
Vladimir Putin did not implement everything he planned at the BRICS summit, which is a platform of intentions and does not have specific regulations, said adviser to the head of the President's Office of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak.
"Everything that Putin planned has not been implemented... Firstly, BRICS is not an organization that already as an institution has specific regulations and so on. No, it is still a platform of intentions... There is no strict membership, no understanding, they will concentrate more on political issues or economic ones," Podoliak said on the air of the national telethon on Friday.
Commenting on the phrase in Putin's final speech at the summit that "the Russian Federation will cope with its own problems," Podoliak noted that the head of the aggressor country "wanted some kind of general resolution that would clearly state that everything Russia does, including on Ukrainian territory, is absolutely correct."
"This resolution is not supported. And the BRICS countries do not want to enter this political component. They absolutely categorically refused, do not support any proposals of the Russian Federation," the adviser to the President's Office head emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that the position of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is actually "destroying everything that was left of the UN's reputation."
Podoliak added that Guterres did not come to the first Peace Summit, but came to the BRICS summit - "an organization that does not exist," and met with "a person who is today destroying international law."
