Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram has announced the allocation of $118 million to Kyiv to maintain the combat capability of F-16 fighters.

“Minister of Defence Bjørn Arild Gram visited the Ukrainian port city of Odesa on 29–30 October. During his visit, he announced that Norway will increase support for Ukraine’s air force with an additional contribution of up to NOK 1.3 billion, which will fund, among other things, the procurement of weapons and spare parts for F-16 aircraft,” the Norwegian government said in a press release.

The press release reminds that Norway will donate six F-16s during 2024 and 2025 and has contributed to the training of Ukrainian pilots and support personnel in Denmark.

In addition, the minister noted that Norway is donating around 130 inflatable boats, with initial deliveries already made.

In September, the Norwegian authorities extended the period of providing annual aid to Ukraine until 2030 and will allocate an additional $475 million for these purposes each year. Thus, Norway's total aid to Kyiv until 2030 has increased from the expected $7.1 billion to $12.8 billion.
