At meeting with congressmen, Umerov notes importance of lifting restrictions on use of weapons on Russian territory
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine held a meeting in Kyiv with U.S. Congressmen Mike Rogers (Republican Party), Jerry Carl (Republican Party) and Mike Quigley (Democratic Party).
"It was an honor to welcome a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. Congress to Kyiv, led by the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Mike Rogers. We had a productive discussion with our American colleagues, as well as with the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink," Umerov said on his Facebook page.
The parties discussed "shared goal – victory over an enemy with significant territorial, industrial, and human resources."
Umerov and his team informed the delegation about the situation on the battlefield.
The Defense Ministry said the enemy, in particular, with the support of the DPRK, is building up equipment and manpower.
"We are doing everything possible to strengthen our Defense Forces. For this, we need ammunition, artillery systems, engineering equipment, and air defense systems to protect our cities. One of the important aspects is also lifting restrictions on the use of Western weapons inside russian territory. This would help gain an advantage on the battlefield, especially before winter onset. We are counting on the U.S. support in this matte," Umerov said.
During the visit, Ukraine presented the capabilities of our defense industry complex and discussed areas in which the United States can help strengthen our production.
