President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff Headquarters (Staff HQ) to hear reports by Acting Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Anatoliy Kryvonozhko and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrsky.
"I held the Staff HQ meeting. There was a report by Acting Commander of the Air Force Anatoliy Kryvonozhko on the fight against the means of Russian air terror. Strengthening of air defense in the regions that need it most, development of new solutions in the fight against guided aerial bombs, strengthening of mobile fire groups," the head of state said on the Telegram channel on Monday.
Compared to last fall, Russia is using about ten times more Shahed kamikaze drones, he said, emphasizing that it is necessary to fully counter them.
Also, the Staff HQ listened to reports on the domestic production of shells, weapons, equipment, electronic warfare, drones and discussed the results of contracting for the current year and plans for the next.
"We considered 3-5-year-long contracts that we offer to Ukrainian manufacturers of strategic-level drones. We need a long-planning horizon, development and investment for manufacturers," Zelenskyy said.
Syrsky also reported on the use of long-range drones, as well as setting priorities and planning of operations.
