MFA: Kyiv denies reports of being informing about conversation between Trump and Putin
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine denies reports about informing about a telephone conversation between U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi told Reuters.
"Reports that the Ukrainian side was informed in advance of the alleged call are false. Subsequently, Ukraine could not have endorsed or opposed the call," the agency quoted Tykhyi as saying.
The Washington Post, citing people familiar with the situation, reported that Trump and Putin spoke by phone on Thursday and discussed the war in Ukraine. It says that Kyiv was informed about the call and did not object to the conversation.
As reported, Donald Trump told Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation not to aggravate the situation in Ukraine, The Washington Post reports.
