B2B platform CodeUA launched for IT sector to attract foreign customers
The Ministry of Digital Transformation and one of the largest IT associations, Lviv IT Cluster, have launched a marketplace for promoting Ukrainian IT to global markets - CodeUA.
"The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Lviv IT Cluster are launching a marketplace to promote Ukrainian tech companies to global markets. The project is being implemented with the support of the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program," the press service of the ministry reported on Wednesday.
CodeUA is a B2B platform that will unite foreign clients with trusted Ukrainian tech contractors to implement a wide range of projects. The platform was presented at the Web Summit conference in Lisbon (Portugal). The project was presented by Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Borniakov. On the first day after the presentation, more than 200 leading Ukrainian tech companies joined the platform, the ministry clarified.
"CodeUA is not only about increasing the number of contracts or growing export volumes. It is about global promotion of the brand of Ukraine as a high-tech state. Its goal is effective matchmaking between Ukrainian IT companies and global businesses," the press service quoted Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov as saying.
According to him, despite the full-scale war, Ukrainian IT companies continue to cooperate with customers from all over the world.
"This is our loud global message: cooperate with Ukrainian companies, build win-win relationships and invest in them now," Fedorov urged.
According to Stepan Veselovsky, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster, some Ukrainian code is contained in many technology products.
"We strive to have even more such cases. CodeUA will set high standards in work and ensure effective matchmaking with global businesses. Lviv IT Cluster will carefully check the portfolio of each technology company registered on the platform. This guarantees the provision of high-quality IT services to customers from all over the world," Veselovsky emphasized.
It is reported that on CodeUA, foreign clients of Ukrainian companies will be able to use a wide range of tools - from an analytical dashboard of the company page and an AI assistant to legal support at all stages of cooperation and a 24-hour concierge service. They will also be able to find relevant vendors according to clear criteria for specific business needs. Clients will be able to order services for software development, IT consulting, cybersecurity, Big Data, design, technical support, and other areas.
Any technology company (with a representative office or branch in Ukraine) that meets the requirements of CodeUA can register on the platform for free, the ministry indicated, expressing confidence that the platform will help Ukrainian companies enter new markets, increasing export potential and attracting foreign investment.
According to the ministry, the Ukrainian IT sector has about 5,000 technology companies, including 2,118 active verified IT companies, according to the study IT Research Ukraine 2024. The number of startups has exceeded 2,600. The industry employs about 300,000 highly qualified specialists, 82% of whom have the qualifications of Middle, Senior and Lead.
