Ukraine to receive 100 generators from Japan this year – Sybiha
Japan on Saturday intends to transfer another batch of generators to Ukraine, the total number of which will reach 100 this year, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha discussed with his Japanese counterpart Takeshi the next steps to further liberalize the visa regime.
“Today, the transfer of the next batch of powerful generators will take place. In total, this year we will receive 100 generators from Japan. This is an important and timely support,” Sybiha said at a press conference with his Japanese counterpart Iwaya Takeshi in Kyiv on Saturday.
In total, as Sybiha informed, Japan has provided Ukraine with more than $12 billion in aid since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
He also recalled that had Japan recently decided to allocate more than $3 billion from frozen Russian assets.
Separately, the Ukrainian Minister noted the role of Japan in efforts to clear mines in Ukraine. In particular, in the autumn of 2025, the Japanese side will hold a conference on mine clearance.
