Oschadbank installs energy storage systems in more than half of branches
State-owned Oschadbank has installed energy storage systems in 650 of its approximately 1,200 branches to ensure its own energy independence, Deputy Chairman of the bank's board, responsible for corporate business, Yuriy Katsion said.
"We have already installed energy storage devices in 650 branches to ensure continuous operation during power outages. Where conditions allow, we are also considering installing solar panels," he said in a conversation with journalists in Kyiv on Thursday.
According to him, by the end of the first quarter of 2025, approximately 150 more branches will have such systems.
"We are not talking about saving electricity, although this will also happen, given that the bank, when concluding contracts for the supply of electricity, is focused on charging the storage devices when the market price for the resource is cheaper. We are talking, first of all, about ensuring energy independence in the event of a power outage and the ability to provide services to customers regardless of its availability in the network," Katsion said.
